Francis Hunter appointed to oversee Origin Global’s HQ and showroom refurbishment

Origin Global, the leading UK bi-fold door and window specialist, required larger premises which better accommodated its rapid growth and market success. In March 2016 the company appointed Francis Hunter to project manage the refurbishment of its head office and showroom.

The refurbishment works included both CAT A & B fit outs. As the project moved into the design and implementation stages the team carried out the contract administration, cost consultancy and project management roles.

While retaining the original buildings on the Sands Industrial Estate, Origin refurbished a newly acquired property on the Cressex Business Park adding a high quality office, training and light manufacturing space to its property portfolio.  With the office move complete, this left a significant ground floor area vacant. Francis Hunter was then appointed in March 2017 to develop the ground floor into a showroom for Origin to show all of their innovative and high quality products within a mock up residential environment.

To show case the products, a mock timber frame house was constructed as the centre point with a separate product gallery. The timber house allows customers to see how each of the products would look and work from both in and outside the mocked up residential setup.

Matt Harris, Director at Francis Hunter Project Management, said: “By appointing Francis Hunter to project manage both CAT A & CAT B works, Origin benefited from both cost and programme synergies. Having been appointed during the property search we used our extensive property and workplace knowledge to assist in the acquisition of the best property.”

Victoria Brocklesby, co-founder at Origin, commented: “We needed additional premises to house our growing company – one that would suit our purposes now and in the future. Francis Hunter was recommended to us by the development manager and we were so happy with their work on the office refurb that we appointed them again to develop our showroom.”
