The Sartorius Group is a leading international partner of the biopharmaceutical industry and the research sector. They are helping biotech scientists and engineers across the globe to develop and manufacture medications from the first idea to production.
The York Way project involved relocating the administration, logistics and service teams to two newly leased warehouse/office spaces in Royston, each approximately 2,500 sqft over two floors.
Francis Hunter was appointed as Project Manager, Cost Consultant and Contract Administrator after Sartorius had already chosen their preferred contractor. This meant a comparison of costs against market knowledge was required rather than a comparison of tender returns via an Employer's Requirements request for proposal process.
Not long into strip out and fit out, Sartorius increased the scope of works to double the size of the mezzanine to include a 50 person office space in addition to the BSL2 lab space which was originally planned.
Project programme was fast track and completed swiftly within 8 months.
