In lieu of #EmployeeAppreciationDay and in celebration of our upcoming 15-year anniversary (!), Francis Hunter Project Management hopped aboard the Eurostar bound for the beautiful city of Lille for a day of well-deserved sightseeing, beer tasting, flavoursome food and relaxation.

We had a delicious regional French lunch at “Estaminet La Vieille France”, a restaurant which didn’t disappoint, full of traditional atmosphere in their vaulted wine cellar. An absolute find, tucked away in the Old Town of Lille.

Following lunch, we emerged into the sunlight and blue skies and were met by our Tour Guide for a 2-hour walking tour learning about the history of the city and visiting the main tourist attractions with stops for obligatory beer tasting (would be rude not to!) and the famous Meert Waffles.

Eventually, before you could say “C’est la vie”, it was time to make our way home to London …

Such a fabulous day which we would highly recommend: visiting Lille; exploring the cobbled streets; viewing the fascinating blend of styles of architecture reflecting its rich history and cultural influences; and sampling everything it has to offer.
